A glance at activities at Anantdham

A day at Anantdham ashram is filled with spiritual and philosophical activities. These activities are pertaining to the four main spiritual paths for God-realization are Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Raja Yoga and Gyan Yoga. Karma Yoga is suitable for a man of active temperament; Bhakti Yoga for a man of devotional temperament; Raja Yoga for a man of mystic temperament; Gyan Yoga for a man of rational and philosophical temperament or enquiry. The practice of Yoga leads to communion with the Lord. Whatever may be the starting point, the end reached is the same.

Brief Outline of Schedule:
 
4:00 am - 5:00 am Personal Meditation
5:00 am - 6:00 am Seva
6:00 am - 6:30 am Prayers and Mantra chanting
6:30 am - 8:00 am Meditation
8:30 am - 9:00 am Breakfast
9:00 am - 1:00 pm Seva
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm Prasad together with reading of Gita (15th chapter)
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm Rest & other seva activities
4:00 pm - 5:30 pm Spiritual Lecture by Shree Shree Param Pujya Maa
5:30 pm - 7:00 pm Seva
7:00 pm - 8:00 pm Evening Prayers & Mantra Chanting
8:00 pm - 9:00 pm Prasad

 

Meditation: The day begins with practice of deep personal meditation around 4 am. The meditation helps one to control the incoming and outgoing breath. As a result of this exercise, Sadhak feels much relieved. The personal meditation runs from 4am thru. 5am.

Seva: From 5:00 am - 6:00 am, sadhak engage themselves into various seva activities within Ashram.

Morning Prayer: The next activity from 6:00 am - 6:30 am leads to the morning prayer of "Pranav Pardeshwar". This unique prayer offers peace of mind and one feels the Joy. Together with prayer, the mantra chanting also continues till 6:30am.

Group meditation: From 6:30 am thru. 8:00 am, all sadhak performs group meditation and practice self-realization. They also carry out various Asanas as well as Pranayam.

Breakfast: Around 8:00 am thru. 9:00 am, sadhak take light breakfast as "Annapurna Ashram".

Karma Yog: Around 9:00 am, according to volunteer's interest and skills various volunteers and sadhaks get involved in various facilities at Ashram including following till 1pm.

  • Garden and Nursery: At Divyajyot Ashram, there is a Garden and Nursery with unique plants. Sadhak participate in gardening, fertilizer treatment as well as take care of plantation of new herbs. Herbal plants are given very careful, loving and affectionate treatment like child.
  • Kitchen and Dinning Hall (Maa Annapurna Mandir): The ashram provides its members clean and nutritious vegetarian food in Prasad form to the best of their taste and needs. It  has large and neat dining hall enough to accommodate all the residents and visitors.
  • Library and Reading Room: The ashram contains books on wide range of subjects such as Religion, Philosophy, Yoga, Meditation etc..
  • Gaushala: The established Gaushala at ashram supplies organic milk to patients and residents for nutrition and aid recovery. Cow dung and urine are used as fertilizer. Milk and clarified butter are used for preparation of medicines.

Lunch (Prasad): Devotees and visitors take lunch in Prasad form around 1:00 pm till 2:00 pm. The prasad is served with a feeling of offering it to Almighty with continuous chanting of Gita's 15th chapter.

Rest: Around 2:00 pm thru. 4:00 pm, Sadhak gets involved in various spiritual or seva activities at Ashram.

Satsang: The daily satsang takes place in main hall around 4:00 pm till 5:30 pm, where Param Pujya Shree Shree Maa delivers spiritual lecture on topics such as "Yog-Vashistha Maharamayan", "Bhagwad Gita", "Astawakra Gita".  After the satsang, devotees get a chance to participate in "Question & Answer session". All devotees thereby benefit from Satsang and continue their journey towards "Self-Realization".

Seva: From 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm, various sadhak engages within various seva activities within Ashram.

Bhajan/Kirtan: From 7:00pm thru. 8:00pm devotees participate in unique group Mantra Chanting activity followed by bhajan and kirtan on topics of self-realization. This experience results in state of mind with peace and supreme happiness.It follows with evening prayer at "Tridev temple a Shiv Sthanam" around 7:30pm.

Dinner (Prasad): At 8:00 pm, various sadhak take their dinner at Annapurna Mandir.
